I took nurse's training at Saskatoon City Hospital and nursed, mostly in the operating room, in various places prior to moving to Fort St. John. The Hirtz families were involved in oilfield construction and farming in Fort St. John. In 1978, I started selling real estate. I was raised on a farm near Dawson Creek and have lived most of my life in the Peace River region. I graduated while living in Dawson Creek and then attended Northern Lights College. My previous occupations include working as a bookkeeper/accounts manager, manager of an oilfield ambulance service, Canadian Customs brokerage clerk, and as a medic. My favorite occupation is being “Mom” and I am very involved in my children’s schools and their activities, volunteering where I can. I believe family should be #1 in your life and after several moves that took us to different Alberta locations we decided we wanted our children to grow up in the North. We moved to Fort St John in August 2006 and plan to stay. I was born and raised in the Fort St John area and was heavily involved in sports and outdoor activities. I graduated with honors out of North Peace Secondary 1987 at North Peace Senior Secondary. I then attended Grant McEwan Community College where I played basketball and took University Transfer courses. In 1990, I arrived at Simon Fraser University where I played football earning an All American award for my play. Along with playing football I earned a degree in Economics and a minor in Accounting all which play an important part in my work as a REALTOR®. I then went to have a nine year career in the CFL playing with BC, Edmonton and Montreal. I retired after the 2002 season and went to work in Golden BC starting a contracting company.
Wanting to raise my two children with the same opportunities I had, I made the move back to Fort St. John in May of 2005 and I started a career in Real Estate. Along with being a REALTOR® I also have become a part owner in Dawson Creek Realty Ltd which we then turned into to a RE/MAX franchise.
